John Canes Injured in Deadly Hollister Car Accident on State Route 156 near San Felipe Road
Hollister, California (December 21, 2021) – John Michael Canes, 26, of Hollister was injured in a fatal collision on Friday night in Hollister, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on State Route 156 east of San Felipe Road just before 6:55 p.m. December 17.
According to the report, Canes was driving westbound on SR 156 when he drifted across the double yellow lines and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Canes was treated for minor injuries following the crash.
The second driver, identified as a 53-year-old Hollister man, died in the crash.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the incident.
The CHP is handling the crash investigation.
