Francisco Resendiz ID'd as Man Killed in Bakersfield Collision on David Road near Mettler Frontage Road
Bakersfield, California (December 23, 2021) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Tuesday night has been identified as Francisco Bahena Resendiz, 51, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The collision occurred on David Road east of Mettler Frontage Road on Tuesday, December 21.
CHP said Resendiz was driving a Ford Ranger westbound on David Road when he tried to pass other vehicles and collided with an oncoming Toyota Tundra.

Resendiz was pronounced deceased at the site of the collision.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
