71-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Simi Valley Crash on Royal Avenue and First Street
Simi Valley, California (December 25, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Friday night traffic accident that killed a 71-year-old bicyclist in Simi Valley.
The incident happened on Royal Avenue, west of First Street, just before 7:10 p.m. December 24.
According to the police, an SUV collided with the bicyclist on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

The 71-year-old bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unclear if the bicyclist was intoxicated at the time of the collision.
The driver of the SUV was not under the influence of drugs.
Both directions of Royal Avenue were closed between First and Fourth streets as authorities investigated the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
