Shaun Reeth ID'd as Motorcyclist Killed in Escondido Crash at Bear Valley Parkway and Hayden Drive
Escondido, California (December 26, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who died after being struck by an SUV Thursday morning in Escondido as Shaun Van Reeth, 60.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened at about 12:30 p.m., December 23, at the intersection of Bear Valley Parkway and Hayden Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Reeth was riding on the east sidewalk of Bear Valley on a Yamaha YZF450 off-road motorcycle when he was struck by a Lexus NX 300 SUV making a left turn onto Bear Valley.
Reeth was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The 30-year-old Escondido woman driving the SUV was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The Escondido police are investigating the crash.
