Two Women Injured in La Jolla Crash on State Route 52
La Jolla, California (December 29, 2021) – Two women sustained major injuries in an auto-pedestrian collision early Wednesday morning in La Jolla, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The women were reportedly trying to change a tire on their vehicle when the incident happened.
CHP said the women exited their vehicle after it experienced a flat tire and as they were trying to change it, an eastbound driver on State Route 52 lost control and crashed into them.
The collision occurred at around 12:15 a.m. near the transition to Interstate 5.

The two women were rushed to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
CHP said the driver who struck the victims remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
