2 Injured in Taft Crash on Sixth Street near Lucard Street

Taft, California (January 7, 2022) – Two people were injured in an auto-pedestrian accident in Taft on Thursday evening, according to the Taft Police Department.
The incident occurred on Sixth Street near Lucard Street at around 5:33 p.m. January 6.
Police said a man and a woman were trying to cross Sixth Street when they were struck by a car traveling northbound.

The pedestrians were hospitalized with major injuries.
Police said the 17-year-old driving the car was operating the vehicle without a license.
Speed and alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
