4 Injured in Cajon Pass Accident on Interstate 15 Freeway near Kenwood Boulevard
Cajon Pass, California (January 12, 2022)– Multiple parties were injured when a vehicle collided with a semi truck and caught fire on the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass Wednesday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened near Kenwood Boulevard at around 12:15 p.m.
CHP said a dark-colored Subaru SUV was traveling northbound on the freeway when it slammed into the back of a semi truck.
The SUV erupted in flames following the impact.
Firefighters who responded to the scene quickly worked to put out the fire.
4 Hurt in Cajon Pass Big Rig Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway
Four people in the SUV were injured. One of the patients was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Two other patients were transported by ground ambulance.
The fourth person injured in the collision declined transportation.
The No. 4 southbound lane was blocked temporarily for the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
