1 Killed, 2 Critically Injured in Sonoma Car Crash on Highway 116 at W Watmaugh Road

Sonoma, California (January 16, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were critically injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday morning at an intersection in Sonoma, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck occurred at around 11:13 a.m. on Highway 116, also known as Stage Gulch Road, at W Watmaugh Road.
Multiple vehicles, including a silver Cadillac, a white Ford pickup truck and a white Infiniti, were involved in the collision. The vehicles were blocking the roadway and debris was scattered in traffic lanes.
Reportedly, the Cadillac caused the collision after attempting to cut off the truck using the center divider.
At least two parties were unconscious in one of the vehicles, and at least one other was trapped in the back of another vehicle.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and started administering CPR to at least one person who was seriously injured. Two helicopters and multiple ground ambulances were dispatched to the scene to offer medical transport.
As per the report, at least one person was killed and at least two others suffered critical injuries in the crash. The injured parties were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The highway was expected to remain closed for several hours following the wreck.
