Liam Washington ID'd as Boy Killed in Sonoma County Crash on State Route 116 near Watmaugh Road

Sonoma County, California (January 18, 2022) – The 16-year-old boy who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Sonoma County on Sunday morning has been identified as Liam Washington of Mill Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Manessis T. Alexander, 24, of Novato was arrested following the accident that happened when he was driving a 2017 Cadillac westbound on State Route 116 and drifted across the double yellow lines to pass other cars.
CHP said Alexander collided with an oncoming Infiniti SUV, a 2005 Acura, and a 2016 Ford F350.
The collision happened just west of Watmaugh Road at about 11:13 a.m.
Liam Washington Killed in Sonoma County Accident
Washington was a passenger in the Cadillac and was killed in the collision.
Alexander was trapped in the wreckage. He was extricated and transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital with major injuries.
Washington's twin brother, Lucas Washington, 16, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Two of the other drivers, identified as a 63-year-old Napa man and a 56-year-old Mill Valley woman, sustained minor injuries.
The other motorist was not injured.
Alexander was arrested on DUI charges, CHP said.
The incident is under investigation.
