One Hospitalized after Bakersfield Collision on Highway 99 and Norris Road

Bakersfield, California (January 18, 2022) – One person was taken to a hospital following a big rig collision in Bakersfield on Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Two big rigs collided shortly before 11:30 a.m. January 17, on Highway 99 and Norris Road.
One of the rigs came to a rest hanging over the side of the road. It spilled nearly 50,000 pounds of carrots it was hauling.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash caused a closure of all lanes of Highway 99.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the collision.
