Lucas Washington Injured in Fatal Sonoma County Crash on State Route 116

Sonoma County, California (January 18, 2022) – 16-year-old Lucas Washington of Mill Valley was injured in a fatal crash that killed his twin brother in Sonoma County on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on State Route 116, just west of Watmaugh Road at about 11:13 a.m. January 16.
Manessis T. Alexander, 24, of Novato, was reportedly driving a 2017 Cadillac westbound on State Route 116 when he drifted across the double yellow lines to pass other cars and collided with an oncoming Infiniti SUV, a 2005 Acura, and a 2016 Ford F350.
Lucas was a passenger in the Cadillac and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Lucas' twin brother, Liam Washington of Mill Valley, was also a passenger in the Honda and died in the accident.
Alexander was trapped following the collision. He was pulled from the wreckage and transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Two other motorists were treated for minor injuries while the fourth driver was not injured.
Authorities later arrested Alexander on DUI charges.
The crash remained under investigation.
