Patricia Murphy Arrested after Deadly Lucerne Car Crash on Highway 20 near Lake Street
Clear Lake, California (January 18, 2022) – Patricia Martha Murphy, 31, of Lucerne was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a fatal crash that occurred in Lucerne on Sunday night, according to California Highway Patrol.
A man died in the crash that happened at about 11:55 p.m. January 16, on Highway 20 near Lake Street.
CHP said Murphy was driving a 2012 Volkswagen westbound on Highway 20 when she made an unsafe turn and drifted onto the right.
The Volkswagen crashed into the rear of a parked Ram 5500 pickup.
Patricia Murphy Arrested after Lucerne Car Accident
A 30-year-old man who was a passenger in the Volkswagen was killed in the accident. His name was not immediately released.
CHP said Murphy was taken to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport for minor injuries and also arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
