Joseph Bennett III ID'd as Man Killed in Frontage Road Crash near Seventh Street in Oakland
Oakland, California (January 18, 2022) – Authorities have identified the man who died early Monday morning in a rear-end collision in West Oakland as Joseph Bennett III, 50, of Oakland.
The tragic wreck occurred at around 1:50 a.m. Monday, January 17, in the 800 block of Frontage Road near Seventh Street.
According to the authorities, Bennett was driving southbound on Frontage Road when, for an unknown reason, his Ford Explorer slammed into the back of a trailer that was parked in the center median.
Victim of Deadly Traffic Collision in Oakland Identified
Bennett died at the scene.
It is undermined if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
