Officer Ty Lenehan Killed in Elk Grove Crash on Highway 99 near Sutterville Road
Elk Grove, California (January 21, 2022) – The police officer who died following a traffic collision that happened on Highway 99 in Elk Grove early Friday morning has been identified as Ty Lenehan, according to the authorities.
The crash happened near Sutterville Road shortly after 5:15 a.m.
Authorities said Lenehan was riding a motorcycle southbound on Highway 99 when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle that was heading the wrong way.

Lenehan was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver who collided with Lenehan reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
