Ruben Contreras Jr. ID'd as Motorcyclist Killed in West Hills Crash at Roscoe Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue
West Hills, California (January 22, 2022) – The Los Angeles Coroner's Bureau has identified the motorcyclist who died Thursday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle in the West Hills neighbourhood in Los Angeles as Ruben Contreras Jr., 30.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the deadly accident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on January 20 at the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue.
Contreras was evading the police on the alleged stolen motorcycle in the 22800 block of West Roscoe Boulevard when he collided with an oncoming car.
A video of the accident showed Contreras traveling at speeds that exceeded 100 mph. The impact sent him flying and landed approximately 100 feet from the crash site.
Deadly Motorcycle Collision in West Hills
Contreras died at the scene.
Two occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.
Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
