Victor Baus Injured in Deadly Gerber Crash on Highway 99W near Chard Avenue
Gerber, California (January 25, 2022) – Victor Baus, 81, of Gerber was injured in a fatal crash in Gerber on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Highway 99W south of Chard Avenue at about 10:15 a.m. January 21.
CHP said Baus was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma north on Highway 99W when he tried to make a left turn into a private drive and collided with a 1995 Honda.

The driver of the Honda, an 83-year-old Clearlake man, was rushed to a hospital with major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Baus was transported to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff with minor injuries.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
