Jamie Trigueiro ID'd as Victim of Deadly Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 99 near E. Evans Reimer Road in Butte County
Butte County, California (January 25, 2022) – The man who died Sunday morning following a traffic collision south of Gridley in Butte County has been identified as 23-year-old Jamie Trigueiro.
The tragic accident occurred at around 6:47 a.m. Sunday, January 23, on Highway 99, just north of E. Evans Reimer Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old man was driving a black Nissan Sentra southbound on Highway 99 when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the vehicle to cross into the northbound lane and went directly into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
The semi-truck driver tried to swerve out the way but ended up colliding head-on with the Nissan.

Trigueiro, who was a passenger in the Nissan, died in the crash.
The Nissan driver sustained major injuries in the crash.
The operator of the semi-truck did not suffer any injuries.
