Luz Garciasilva Injured in Fatal Crash on SR 255 in Humboldt County

, California (January 26, 2022) – Luz Garciasilva, 24, of Samoa, was among four people who were injured Monday night in a traffic collision that also left one person dead in Humboldt County.

The deadly crash happened at around 8:50 p.m. Monday, January 24, on State Route 255 near Startare Drive, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a 2000 Lexus was traveling southbound on SR 255 when it collided head-on with a northbound 2020 Jeep.

Shortly after, a southbound 2008 Ford collided into the crashed vehicles

The Lexus driver was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the crash.

A six-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Lexus and the two occupants of the Jeep, including Garciasilva, sustained major injuries. All three patients were taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

Vargas, who was the driver of the Ford, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
