Jacqeline Garciasilva Seriously Injured in Fatal Crash on State Route 255 in Humboldt County

, California (January 26, 2022) – Jacqeline Garciasilva, 24, of Samoa, was seriously injured after being involved in a Monday night crash in Humboldt County, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 8:50 p.m. Monday, January 24, on State Route 255 near Startare Drive.

As per the CHP, a 2000 Lexus, driven by Dwayne Faughn, 49, of Samoa, was traveling south on SR 255 when, for unknown reasons, the Lexus collided head-on with an oncoming 2020 Jeep.

Moments later, a southbound 2008 Ford collided into the crashed vehicles.

Faughn died in the crash.

A six-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Lexus and the two occupants of the Jeep, including Garciasilva, sustained major injuries. All patients were taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

Vargas, who was the driver of the Ford, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
