Man Seriously Injured in Hillcrest Car Crash on State Route 163 near University Avenue
Hillcrest, California (January 26, 2022) – One person was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after an alleged DUI car crash in Hillcrest, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 2:30 a.m. collision took place on State Route 163 near University Avenue.
A GMC Sierra pickup, driven by a woman, reportedly entered SR 163 south from University Avenue and drove in the wrong direction.
Shortly after, the GMC collided head-on with a Honda CR-V, driven by a man.
2-Vehicle Crash in Hillcrest
The man sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The woman was also transported to the hospital to be checked for DUI.
Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
The accident remains under investigation.
