Rafael Marchan Killed in Lake Elsinore Accident on 15 Freeway near Railroad Canyon Road Off-Ramp
Lake Elsinore, California (January 29, 2022) – The person who died in a crash with a big rig on Friday night in Lake Elsinore has been identified as Rafael Marchan, 29, of Wildomar, the Riverside County coroner's office reported.
The incident took place at around 9:17 p.m. January 28, on southbound 15 Freeway, just north of the Railroad Canyon Road off-ramp.
A diesel truck was reportedly stopped on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway when a silver Honda crashed into its back. The Honda was reportedly stuck under the big rig.
Rafael Marchan Killed in Lake Elsinore Collision on 15 Freeway
Marchan was the driver of the Honda and died in the collision.
The driver of the big rig, a 45-year-old Victorville man, was not injured.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
