Thomas Decoste Seriously Injured in Los Banos Crash at Center Avenue and Almond Drive

Los Banos, California (February 1, 2022) – 45-year-old Thomas Decoste of Los Banos was seriously injured after being involved in a deadly two-vehicle accident on Friday evening in Los Banos, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 7:14 p.m., on January 28, at the intersection of Center Avenue and Almond Drive.
Decoste was driving a 2007 GMC westbound on Almond Drive at an unspecified speed when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with Center Avenue and struck the front left side of a 2006 Honda, driven by a 37-year-old Los Banos woman.
After the impact, both vehicles continued in a northwest direction. The Honda reportedly came to rest an agricultural field.

Decoste, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Memorial North Hospital in Modesto for treatment of major injuries.
The Honda driver, whose name was being withheld pending family notification, was declared dead at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
