Tarie Barton Among 2 Killed in La Grange Road Collision near Old La Grange Road
La Grange, California (February 1, 2022) – Tarie Barton, 41, was among two people who died early Saturday morning following a head-on collision in La Grange.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at around 12:08 a.m. on January 29 on La Grange Road, just north of Old La Grange Road.
Barton, a Merced residence, was driving a Kia northbound on La Grange Road when, for undetermined reasons, she drifted into the southbound lane, where her vehicle collided head-on with a 2017 Acura RDX driven by Winton resident Gregorio Carvajal Favela, 60.
Victim in Deadly La Grange Car Crash Identified as Merced Woman
Barton and her passenger, 50-year-old Thomas M. Rodriguez of Merced, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Favela suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Two passengers in the Acura, Maria de Jesus Carvajal, 61, and Susana Pulido Olmos, 58, both residents of Winton, were also taken to Doctors Medical Center with minor injuries.
Authorities did not immediately establish the cause of the crash, but they are investigating.
