Meghan Wautlet Killed in Huntington Beach Crash on Pacific Coast Highway

Huntington Beach, California (February 3, 2022) – John Marshall Murray III, 22, has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a traffic collision that killed his passenger nearly five months ago in Huntington Beach.
The incident happened on Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Warner Avenue, at around 8:17 p.m. September 11.
According to deputies, Murray was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed and erratically northbound on the PCH when he rear-ended a northbound SUV that was trying to make a U-turn.

Meghan Wautlet, 22, of Huntington Beach, who was a passenger in the motorcycle, died at the scene of the collision.
Murray sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he remained in treatment. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, February 4
Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
The accident remained under investigation.
