5 People Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash on Millerton Road near Marina Drive
Fresno County, California (February 5, 2022) – Five people were killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident that also left two people seriously injured in Fresno County, authorities said.
The deadly head-on collision occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Millerton Road near Marina Drive, just west of Table Mountain Casino.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Hyundai Accent was headed westbound on Millerton Road when it crossed a double-yellow line into the opposite lane, crashing head-on into a white Honda Accord.
Sadly, all four men in the Hyundai and a passenger in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the driver of the Honda and another passenger. They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were suspected of having played a role in the accident. Indications of drinking were found in the Hyundai.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
