Man Dies in National City Accident on Interstate 805 near Division Street
National City, California (February 7, 2022) – One person died following a fiery car accident in National City early Monday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 805 near Division Street at about 2:11 a.m.
A Honda Civic and a Hyundai Elantra were involved in the collision, which caused the Civic to roll down the embankment.

The driver of the Civic, only identified as a 28-year-old San Diego man, died at the site of the collision.
The other motorist, a 21-year-old Chula Vista man, was uninjured and remained at the scene.
It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
