L. Saurberg and V. Miranda Among 5 Injured in Deadly El Centro Collision on SR 86
El Centro, California (February 7, 2022) – Authorities have identified the parties who were seriously injured in a deadly car accident in El Centro on Sunday morning.
L. Saurberg, 46, of Brawley, V. Miranda, 32, of Brawley, I. Valles, 57, of El Centro, M. Valles-Garcia, 56, of Brawley, and M. Gamboa, 58, of Highland, were hospitalized with major injuries.
At around 12 a.m. February 6, Saurberg was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse with four passengers west on Norm River Road when she was involved in a collision with a 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven south on SR 86 by Gamboa.
A 57-year-old Brawley woman who was a passenger in the Traverse was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saurberg and Miranda were transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center while I. Valles and M. Valles-Garcia were taken to Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
Gamboa was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Several victims of the collision were believed to have not been wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision, authorities said.
Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident, which remained under investigation.
