Michael Olifir Killed in Roseville Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 80 near Roseville Parkway

Roseville, California (February 9, 2022) – 21-year-old Michael Olifir of Antelope was one of two people fatally hit by a vehicle while at the scene of an earlier two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in Roseville, the California Highway Patrol said.
Olifir and his friend, 19-year-old Diana Filinyuk, of Rancho Cordova, were driving on Interstate 80 near the Roseville Parkway overcrossing at around 12:20 a.m. February 5 when they witnessed a Honda Accord and a Nissan Altima collide.
They pulled over to check on the drivers and as they walked back to their vehicle in the center divide, a 2017 Jeep Commander drifted to the side to avoid the two crashed vehicles and struck the couple.

Both Olifir and Filinyuk were pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.
The driver who struck the couple, 45-year-old Brandy Kincaid, was not suspected of drunk driving.
The operators of the vehicles involved in the initial crash were not hurt but the driver of the Honda Accord was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
An investigation into the collision is being conducted by the California Highway Patrol.
