At Least One Person Seriously Injured in Covina Crash on Interstate 10 (San Bernardino Freeway) near Via Verde Street
Covina, California (February 10, 2022) – At least one person was seriously injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash in Covina on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Just after 2:20 a.m. on February 9, emergency personnel responded to the eastbound Interstate 10 near Via Verde Street onramp to investigate the report of a motor vehicle collision.
A Volkswagen Jetta collided with a pickup in the eastbound lane of the interstate, the CHP said. At least one vehicle caught fire upon the impact.
Fiery Covina Collision on San Bernardino Freeway Injures One
Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
One person, whose name was not immediately disclosed, suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
No further details about the crash were given.
The accident remains under investigation.
