Pilot Killed in Coalinga Plane Crash near W. Chandler and S. Sonoma Avenues

Coalinga, California (February 16, 2022) – Authorities responded to a plane crash that killed one person in Coalinga Tuesday night.
According to Fresno County Sheriff's deputies, authorities were notified that the ground crew had lost contact with the pilot of a 1967 Bell UH-1 that was crop dusting in the area at around 9:00 p.m. February 15.
Authorities searched the area and located the wreckage near W. Chandler and S. Sonoma Avenues, just north of Harris Ranch at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The plane is believed to have clipped high power lines and crashed.
The pilot was the only occupant at the time and was pronounced deceased at the scene after being extricated by Cal Fire crews.
Authorities said the plane is owned by American Ag Aviation, Inc., a company in Five Points.
The incident remains under investigation.
