At Least 1 Injured in Athlone Car Crash at Plainsburg Road and Buchanan Hollow Road
Merced County, California (February 16, 2022) – Injuries were reported Wednesday morning following a three-vehicle collision at an intersection in Athlone, Merced County.
The crash occurred at around 6:11 a.m. at the intersection of Plainsburg Road and Buchanan Hollow Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, three vehicles collided at the intersection. One of the drivers allegedly ran a red light and collided with the other cars.
A silver Toyota sedan sustained front and rear-end damage as a result of the collision.
An unknown number of patients suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by responding paramedics.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
