Pablo Rangel ID'd as Street Vendor Killed in South Los Angeles Crash at 48th Street and Main Street

South , California (February 18, 2022) – Pablo Rangel, 67, has been identified as the street vendor who died when he was hit by a stolen Amazon in South Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.

The deadly collision took place in the area of East 48th Street and South Main Street at about 2:15 p.m. February 17.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an Amazon truck making deliveries was stolen in the area of Woodlawn Avenue and 41st Place and the suspect took off.

The suspect then lost control in the area of 48th and South Main Street and collided with a street vendor and three other people on the sidewalk.

Rangel was pinned against a wall of a building and died at the site of the collision.

Another was also pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police arrested the suspect, Cristian Ramos Sanchez, 37, after he tried to flee from the scene on foot. 

The Los Angeles Police Department is conducting an investigation into the collision.
