Eliyu Arellano Killed in Wildomar Collision on Interstate 15 near Clinton Keith Road
Wildomar, California (February 19, 2022) – 34-year-old Eliyu Arellano of Wildomar was one of two people who died in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday morning in Wildomar, the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
Shortly before 2 a.m., authorities responded to the scene of a collision on Interstate 15, south of the Clinton Keith Road offramp.
CHP said a Mercedes-Benz heading north on Interstate 15 was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver made an unsafe lane change.
Eliyu Arellano Among 2 Killed in Wildomar Crash
The driver sideswiped a Ford Escape, causing the Mercedes to careen into the center divider wall. It then overturned multiple times and ejected both occupants.
The two, identified as Arellano and Isaac Barrera, 24, of Wildomar, were not wearing their seatbelts and were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other motorist, a 26-year-old Santa Ana man, was treated for minor injuries while his passenger was not injured.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
