1 Killed, 1 Injured in Newport Beach Helicopter Crash near West Balboa Boulevard and 18th Street
Newport Beach, California (February 19, 2022) – A police officer was killed in a Saturday evening helicopter crash that left another officer injured in Newport Beach, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. near West Balboa Boulevard and 18th Street.
According to the police, the helicopter crashed in the area for undetermined reasons.
Sadly, a 14-year veteran died due to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
A 16-year veteran was critically injured in the accident.
