Humberto Arteaga Jr. III Among 2 Killed in Seal Beach Crash on 405 Freeway
Seal Beach, California (February 21, 2022) – Humberto Arteaga Jr. III, 21, of La Puente was among two people who were killed in a multi-vehicle crash that happened in Seal Beach early Sunday morning, the coroner's office said.
The crash was reported at around 1:30 a.m. February 20, on the San Diego (405) Freeway, just north of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.
A 2016 Honda Civic, a 2012 Honda Civic, and at least five other vehicles were involved in the crash on the southbound lanes of the freeway.
One of the vehicles was reportedly traveling the wrong way, leading to the accident.

Arteaga, who was the driver of the 2016 Honda, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the 2012 Honda, Steven Harvey, 30, of Midway City, was also killed in the accident.
The 28-year-old Rancho Palos Verdes resident who was driving the 2012 Honda was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Two other parties were evaluated at the scene but were not taken to hospital.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the deadly accident.
