Patrick Gomez Killed in Newman Collision on River Road near Azevedo Road
Stanislaus County, California (February 22, 2022) – Patrick Gomez, 38, was among two people who died following a traffic collision that happened north of Newman in Stanislaus County on Monday morning, according to the authorities.
At about 5:22 a.m. February 21, authorities said a 2005 Nissan Maxima was heading south on River Road when it collided head-on with an oncoming 2022 Ram 1500 pickup truck that was trying to pass a semi-truck.
The pickup reportedly caught fire following the accident.
Gomez and the driver of the Ram, a 52-year-old Newman woman, died in the accident.
The driver of the big rig was not injured.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
