2 Hospitalized after Interstate 5 Freeway Collision near Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo
Mission Viejo, California (February 24, 2022) – Two people were hospitalized Thursday morning following a traffic collision in Mission Viejo, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 5:30 a.m. collision happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway at Crown Valley Parkway.
CHP said a white 2017 Ford Fusion sedan slammed into a red 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck in the No. 5 lane of the freeway. A third vehicle crashed through debris in the roadway and sustained damage.
A passenger of the Ford Fusion and one occupant of the pickup truck were both taken to Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with minor injuries.
The two vehicles had broken axles and other damage as a result of the collision. One of them was missing its front wheel. Tow trucks were dispatched to the scene to remove them from the crash site.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
