Man Killed in Solana Beach Bicycle Crash on Highway 101
Solana Beach, California (February 26, 2022) – One person died following a bicycle collision in Solana Beach on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the incident shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Highway 101 near Lomas Santa Fe.
A man on an electric bike was trying to pass another cyclist when he fell onto the roadway and was hit by a Dodge truck in the area.

The victim, a 65-year-old man, was rushed to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
