Paul Gendron Injured in Fatal Morro Bay Accident at Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road

Morro Bay, California (February 28, 2022) – Paul Daniel Gendron, 50, of was hurt in a deadly car collision on Saturday evening in Morro Bay, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

At around 6:20 p.m. February 27, John Ruxton Carroll Jr., 71, of was driving a vehicle north on Highway 1 when he stopped to turn left at San Luisito Creek Road.

Carroll was then hit by a southbound vehicle that Gendron was driving.

A vehicle traveling behind  Gendron, which was operated by Vivian Young Gong, 66, of Morro Bay, then crashed into Gendron's vehicle.

Carroll and other parties involved in the crash were taken to Sierra Regional Medical Center with major injuries. A Turlock woman who was riding as a passenger in Carroll's vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
