Driver Killed in Contra Costa County Accident on Interstate 80 near Willow Avenue
Contra Costa, California (February 28, 2022) – One person was killed in a collision involving a tow truck in Contra Costa County on Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
A man driving a Toyota Rav-4 on Interstate 80 collided with a tow truck that was trying to enter the freeway pulling a disabled vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities said the driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
The parties in the tow truck were treated for minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
