Jose Castillo ID'd as Boy Killed in Concord Crash at Galindo Street and Clayton Road

Concord, California (March 1, 2022) – Authorities have identified the 16-year-old boy who died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon at an intersection in Concord as Jose Castillo of Concord.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at about 3:35 p.m. Friday, February 25, at the intersection of Galindo Street and Clayton Road.
Concord police officers who responded to the scene said the accident involved the boy, who they said was a pedestrian, a work truck, and other vehicles.
The boy died of his injuries at the scene.
The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District had earlier said that the teen was riding a bicycle when he was pinned between one of the vehicles and a tree.
Officers arrested one of the drivers, who now faces vehicular manslaughter charges.
