Carlos Velazquez ID'd as Man Killed in Los Banos Collision on Highway 152 near Cozzi Avenue
Los Banos, California (March 1, 2022) – Authorities have identified the man who died Friday afternoon following a rear-end collision east of Los Banos as Carlos Velazquez, believed to be 33 to 34 years of age.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. on February 25 on Highway 152 near Cozzi Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 2004 Toyota Sequoia on Highway 152 when it slammed into the back of a 2012 Honda Accord on the highway. The force of the impact pushed the Toyota into a ditch while the Honda ended up in the center median area.

Velazquez was ejected from the Toyota. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were seven people inside the Toyota at the time of the accident, authorities said. Two passengers of the Toyota sustained major injuries and were transported to a Modesto-area hospital. The Toyota driver was taken to a Los Banos hospital with minor injuries.
The female driver of the Honda was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
