2 Seriously Hurt in Redding Truck Crash on Interstate 5 Freeway near Hilltop Drive

Redding, California (March 1, 2022) – At least two people sustained major injuries in a collision involving two trucks in Redding on Tuesday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
A Caltrans truck and a moving truck collided on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Hilltop Drive at around 12:57 p.m.
The box truck was traveling in the right lane on northbound I-5 when it crashed into the rear of the Caltrans truck for unknown reasons.

Two Caltrans workers, identified as a 66-year-old Bella Vista man and a 25-year-old Anderson man, were transported to hospital with major injuries.
The operator of the box truck, a 40-year-old Sacramento man, was not taken to hospital.
The incident is under investigation.
