Two Men Killed, Driver Injured in Los Banos Car Crash at Fahey Road and Cherokee Road

Merced County, California (March 2, 2022) – Two people died and another sustained injuries in a car crash that happened on Wednesday afternoon near Los Banos in Merced County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at around 2:30 p.m. at Fahey Road and Cherokee Road near Santa Nella community.
A Nissan and a Honda were traveling east on Fahey Road when the Nissan driver lost control and veered into the opposite lanes.
The Nissan then crashed into a telephone pole before it came to a stop, CHP said.
A 25-year-old and 17-year-old men in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver also lost control and went to the south side of the road, crashed into a guard rail and overturned into a canal.
The driver sustained minor injuries.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
