Pedestrian Injured in Oceanside Accident on South The Strand near Tyson Street
Oceanside, California (March 3, 2022) – A pedestrian was taken to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle that left the road and slammed into the ocean Tuesday morning in Oceanside, police said.
Shortly before 10 a.m. March 1, a driver in a truck traveled off South The Strand and accelerated, hitting a pedestrian.
The incident happened just south of Tyson Street Park.
The truck went over boulders and ended up in the ocean.

Authorities said the pedestrian, a 68-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was booked into the Vista jail on DUI charges. His bail was set at $100,000.
The incident is under investigation.
