Kelly Santiago Among 2 Killed in San Jose Crash on Interstate 280 near 7th Street
San Jose, California (March 3, 2022) – One of the two people who died in a February car accident on Interstate 280 in San Jose has been identified by the authorities as Kelly Denise Melendrez Santiago, 19, of San Jose.
He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Samuel Marin Cendejas Jr., 18, of San Jose, when the collision occurred near 7th Street at around 10:50 p.m. on February 15.
According to the authorities, Cendejas was driving a white pickup truck north on I-280 at a high rate of speed when he swerved to the right and crashed into the back of another vehicle.

The truck left the roadway and slammed into a tree, before being engulfed in flames.
Cendejas was pronounced deceased at the scene while Santiago succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Police are working to determine what caused the collision.
