Two Injured in Highway 101 Accident near Merrydale Road in San Rafael
San Rafael, California (March 5, 2022) – Two people were sent to a hospital following a three-car accident in San Rafael late Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 11:05 a.m. Friday, March 4 on Highway 101 near Merrydale Road.
CHP said a Subaru was driving recklessly and swerving on the southbound side of the highway when the driver slammed into a silver pickup truck and another vehicle.
The pickup truck overturn upon the impact. The Subaru sustained major front-end damage in the collision.
2 Hospitalized after San Rafael Collision
One person complained of pain while another patient suffered a head contusion. Both victims were transported to the Marin General Hospital for treatment.
The southbound lanes of Highway 101 were closed near Merrydale due to the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
