Three Critical after Los Alamos Accident on Highway 101
Los Alamos, California (March 8, 2022) – Injuries were reported in collisions involving a wrong-way motorist south of Los Alamos on Tuesday night, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at around 7:40 p.m. March 8, on northbound Highway 101.
A driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 caused a collision at Alisos Canyon Road and another near the intersection of Highway 154.
Several Injured in Los Alamos Wrong-Way Crashes on Highway 101
At least one person with critical injuries was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Two other critically injured parties and a fourth patient with minor injuries were transported by ambulance.
Emergency crews had to extricate parties trapped in the wreckage.
A white utility truck spilled 50 to 75 gallons of diesel fuel due to the collision.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the CHP.
