Three Critical after Los Alamos Accident on Highway 101

Los Alamos, California (March 8, 2022) – Injuries were reported in collisions involving a wrong-way motorist south of Los Alamos on Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The incident was reported at around 7:40 p.m. March 8, on northbound Highway 101.

A driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 caused a collision at Alisos Canyon Road and another near the intersection of Highway 154.

At least one person with critical injuries was airlifted to Cottage Hospital.

Two other critically injured parties and a fourth patient with minor injuries were transported by ambulance.

Emergency crews had to extricate parties trapped in the wreckage.

A white utility spilled 50 to 75 gallons of diesel fuel due to the collision.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the CHP.
