Victorville, CA: 2 Airlifted after Major Crash on Amargosa Road

, California (March 9, 2022) – Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries after a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday night in Victorville, as per a local news source.

The crash occurred at about 8:55 p.m. at 11600 Amargosa Road, just in front of BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse and south of Bear Valley Road.

A black 2015 Nissan Altima and a white Ford Transit cargo were involved in the accident.

The Victorville Fire Department responded to the scene to find a woman trapped inside the Altima's driver's seat. It took nearly half an hour to cut open the car's roof and free the woman.

The patient was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition. A passenger in the same vehicle was also airlifted with critical injuries.

A third passenger in the Altima and the driver of the van sustained minor injuries. It was not clear if they were hospitalized.

The crash left northbound Amargosa shut down during the rescue operation.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
