2 Injured in Castaic Crash on Interstate 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road
Castaic, California (March 9, 2022) – Two people were injured, one seriously, following a collision between a semi-truck and a car in Castaic early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 2:24 a.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Lake Hughes Road.
CHP said the white big rig truck with empty double trailers jackknifed during the collision. A blue sedan sustained “extremely major” rear-end damage as a result of the crash.

One person sustained major injuries and another had minor injuries in the crash. The names of the victims and their current condition were not available.
The crash remains under investigation.
